At Kelp Divers, your journey into scuba diving begins with our Discover Scuba Diving experience, the perfect way to take your first breath underwater without committing to a full certification.
We start in a calm, controlled environment where a highly trained PADI Professional introduces you to your equipment and guides you through the basics at a relaxed pace. When conditions allow, we then take you into Cape Town’s iconic underwater world, where the experience comes alive among the breathtaking kelp forests — one of the ocean’s most magical and unique ecosystems.
Course Overview:
- Duration: 1 day (weather dependent)
- Minimum age requirement: 10 years old
- Complete an online theory assessment beforehand
- Complete 1 swimming pool skill session
- Complete 1 Open Water Dive (shore dive)
- Dive up to 12 metres (40 feet) under the supervision of a PADI Professional
- Valid for 14 days
- Skills gained can be credited toward the PADI Open Water Diver certification with Kelp Divers in Cape Town
